Group sessions run on Tuesday evenings, either in my home or a venue in Cowley, Oxford.  Private sessions will be arranged to mutual convenience.

I would recommend starting the course when you are around 28 to 32 weeks pregnant, however, ladies in much more advanced pregnancy have still found the course very useful!

What you will learn

• Deep relaxation and self-hypnosis techniques.
• To release any fears or uncertainties surrounding birth.
• To approach birthing feeling positive, relaxed and confident in your body’s natural ability to give birth.
• Different breathing techniques for the different stages of childbirth, which will maximise the efficiency of the surges, shortening labour.
• Gentle birthing techniques that allow you to breathe your baby into the world without the damage that can be caused by forced pushing.
• Massage techniques and positions for birthing.
• How to work with your body to produce the body’s natural anaesthesia (endorphins) and to eliminate the stress hormones that cause pain.
• How to avoid artificial induction and episiotomy.
• To work with your body and your natural birthing instincts.
• The background into the myth that pain must accompany normal birth and why women in other cultures have births almost entirely free of discomfort.
